What Is An Athletic Trainer and What Do They Do?
Athletic Trainers work with athletic programs. They help to manage, prevent, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries under the direction of a team physician. Athletic Trainers help athletes perform to the best of their ability while minimizing injury.


Where Do Athletic Trainers Work?
Athletic Trainers may work in middle schools or high schools, colleges, universities, professional athletic organizations or sports medicine clinics in hospitals, health clubs or corporate health programs.



Which Personal Skills Are Needed For An Athletic Training Career?
Athletic Trainers should have good communication skills, the ability to relate to people from various backgrounds, and a desire to help others.


What Type of Training Is Required To Become An Athletic Trainer?
Entry level positions for a Certified Athletic Trainer require a four-year degree which must include 800 working hours of athletic training work experience (similar to an internship) and two years of work under the supervision of a Certified Athletic Trainer.

What Should You Do Now To Prepare For An Athletic Training Career?
In order to prepare yourself to be an Athletic Trainer, you should take general college preparatory courses. Identify a volunteer or observation opportunity working with a certified athletic trainer.


What Is The Expected Salary Of An Athletic Trainer?
The average salary range for an Athletic Trainer is $25,000
