| Please answer the following Scenarios in your own words |
Scenario #1
A very good friend of yours is always complaining about how
fat she feels even though she is not fat at all. In fact, it
seems as though she has been losing a lot of weight. She
seems to be withdrawing from you and your other friends and
hardly ever wants to go out after games anymore to get pizza
like she always use to do with everyone. When you ask her
about it, she just states that she is too busy. She works
out religiously, at least two hours a day, no matter how
tired she is or how bad the weather is. You are beginning to
notice changes in her appearance also. She is beginning to
wear baggy clothes and she looks so tired and worn out all
of the time. Her skin looks dry and she is always
complaining about being cold. You are also noticing that at
lunch, she either doesn't eat, or eats very little and eats
it very slowly. You have a very good suspicion that this
good friend of yours has an eating disorder.
Since you are very concerned, what is at least one thing you
should do?

Scenario #2
Cathy seems to gain and lose weight regularly, depending on
her moods. When she is depressed about something, she eats.
Sometimes she will come home from school and eat a whole box
of cookies or a couple of sandwiches and a bag of potato
chips. She also eats at night while watching television or
studying. When she sees a commercial for some appealing
food, she goes to the refrigerator and gets something to
eat. When she has an episode like this, she doesn't eat
anything for the next few days. When she is not depressed,
Cathy usually eats breakfast, a school lunch, and dinner
with her family. She also walks to and from school but does
not participate in any sports.
Select one habit/behavior that can be changed based on the
above scenario and give one better behavior to substitute
for it.
