Connected by 25: Improving the Life Chances of the Country’s Most Vulnerable 14-24 Year Olds
In November, the Article of the
Month looked at connectedness based on research done by the Collaborative for Academic, Social and
Emotional Learning (CASEL). Specifically, the focus was on school
connectedness. A good follow-up article is December’s Article of the Month. "Connected
by 25: Improving the Life Chances of the Country’s Most Vulnerable 14-24 Year
Olds" (pdf) published by The William and Flora
Hewlett Foundation discusses the outcomes of those young adults who are
not connected to a support system and how to build that support system. While
the focus is on older teens and young adults, this article should challenge
school personnel to focus on connectedness during the school years.
